Conducting geophysical surveys in the area has played a major role in defining the deposit boundaries. Techniques such as ground magnetic surveys, induced polarization (IP), and resistivity surveys have been used to delineate the conductive and resistive zones, helping in the restrictive mapping of the ore body and understanding its contours. Various mining methods can be applied to exploit the El Pilar copper deposit. The combination of open-pit and underground mining methods could be ideal given the deposit’s nature.
