Kashiwagi explained that he enjoyed playing each of the roles, but he particularly enjoyed playing the schoolteacher in ‘The Tiger and the Wolf’ as he was able to bring out the nuances of the character in a powerful way.
The final question asked focused on Kashiwagi’s thoughts on the current state of the movie industry. Kashiwagi shared his opinion that the movie industry has become saturated with big budget movies and franchises, leaving little room for the more creative and artistic indie productions. He believes that the bigger productions are often reliant on special effects, while the smaller productions focus more on the script, performance, and various nuances that give it a more personal touch. Kashiwagi believes that in order to restore the original spirit of cinema, there needs to be more balance and diversity in the films being produced.
