Ready for Round 4: Starting the 4th Presidential Year
2020 marks President Donald Trump’s fourth year in office, and with it comes the anticipation of what promises to be an exciting and challenging next few months. As we approach the national election in November, it is important to take stock of the progress the Trump Administration has made since his inauguration in January of 2017.
Since January 2017, President Trump has kept his campaign promises of strengthening the American economy, promoting free markets, and protecting the American people and promoting national security. His signature economic policies have resulted in record low unemployment rates, wage growth for the middle class, and a vibrant American job market. The US economic expansion has also been bolstered by Trump’s imposing of tariffs on foreign goods, which has helped reverse a decades-long decline in US manufacturing. US factories are humming again and manufacturing output is at its highest levels since the early 2000s.
In addition, President Trump has made substantial progress in the areas of national security, immigration, and foreign policy. Under his leadership, the United States is negotiating trade deals with economic rivals like China and cutting taxes to help reduce the federal deficit. He has also tightened immigration laws and is working with Mexico to deter illegal immigration. On the foreign policy front, President Trump has worked with several countries to reduce their weapons stockpiles and improved relations with allies in the Middle East and Asia.
As President Trump enters his fourth year in office, there is no denying that the US is a stronger and more secure nation than it was four years ago. With the presidential election just around the corner, it is important to remember the accomplishments of the Trump Administration and to look forward to the continued advancement of America’s interests and values.
