“200 Metre Uranium Mineralization Boost at Tatiggaq in Thelon Basin Project!
An exploration project in the Thelon Basin of Northwest Territories in Nunavut, Canada has reported encouraging results that extend the uranium mineralization detected last year. This follows a results review of the 2020 Tatiggaq Thelon Basin Project.
Located in western Nunavut, the Tatiggaq Thelon Basin Project covers 129,000 hectares and includes Cobalt Minerals Inc.’s interest in 261 claims and a 56,400 hectare Mineral Exploration Licence. 2020 saw a number of promising findings from the project, with mineralization extending to over 200 metres from the surface, and a nearly 10-metre mineralized zone at one site.
The newest results suggest that the mineralization is in fact much deeper than initially assumed. A review of field data examined a total of six priority one drill holes, which included multiple mineralized intervals that extend over 200 metres from surface and confirm that the mineralization is well beyond the depth previously estimated.
Shane Ebert, VP Exploration for Cobalt Minerals Inc. stated, “We are extremely pleased that our first drilling program at Tatiggaq has extended the mineralization beyond the depths of our initial estimates. We have now further extended the zone of mineralization over 200 metres for a total strike length of 300 metres”.
Moving forward, the drill initiative planned for 2021 will follow up on the successes from the first year of drilling. The program intends to further define the mineralization encountered in 2020 and hopes to identify additional zones of uranium mineralization.
These encouraging results released in 2020 and 2021 further solidify the project’s potential, which is fortuitous news for Cobalt Minerals Inc. as 2021 marks the beginning of an aggressive drill program at the Tatiggaq Thelon Basin property. Based on the data so far, it looks as though the project could pay off.
