“Hunter Biden Facing Criminal Charges in Delaware- Will He Find Justice?

Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, has been indicted on two counts of false statements related to gun charges in the state of Delaware. The indictment alleges that Biden failed to disclose his ownership of a gun when he did not have a valid permit for it. Biden was also charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon without a license. The indictment was released Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District court of Delaware. It claims that in October, 2020 Biden bought an “Arsenal Strike One pistol” from a Delaware gun store, and then filled out a federal form with false statements about his ownership of the firearm. Then, on Nov. 6, 2020 – shortly before Election Day – Biden was observed by New Castle County Police outside of a vehicle in a gas station parking lot. When police inspected the car, they found the pistol and several rounds of ammunition. The indictment further states that at the time of his arrest, Biden was prohibited from carrying a firearm or ammunition because he “knowingly and willfully” made false statements on the federal form. Biden could face a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted. The news has already sparked widespread debate about the implications of the charges, with some accusing the Biden administration of a “double standard” when it comes to enforcing gun control regulations. Others point out that the charge carries the same sentence for anyone who is found guilty, regardless of their name or social status. It remains unclear if Biden will seek to plea bargain in the case, or if the charges will proceed in federal court.
